I remember being stopped halfway down Polnoon Street in a nearby village called Eaglesham. Temporary traffic lights had been set up and I pulled the handbrake on. I'd never have stopped at that point otherwise. Framed through an overhanging oak, I glimpsed the perfect view of fields stretching in a patchwork of green far off into the distance.
When we glimpse the perfect view, we're momentarily transported. Eyes shift off ourselves for a second and onto something much bigger, beyond our tiny lives. A view can bring calm and tranquility. It's a simple pleasure. Keep your eyes open and maybe you'll see the perfect view today. Let me know if you do...
ah i feel you man...i have had those moments beyond my own little life...a view can do that...a location as well....really a lovely shot there as well...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely-you get a sense of perspective don't you?
DeleteI don't know if I can get that perfect view where I live (Kolkata) ... it's an overcrowded place with buildings and offices everywhere ... pollution and without much greenery !!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Glasgow! Would love to visit India-I've heard so much about it!
DeleteI gotta tell ya, when you find a view like that it's as if time stands still isn't it? There's this hiking area I love about 30 minutes from where I live - and when I arrive at a certain spot there it is the most peaceful view I've ever known.
ReplyDeleteSounds amazing Keith. I agree that time stands still. Here's to more time spent looking at our beautiful planet!
Deleteahhh...the perfect view! My favorite view is from a cabin we frequent overlooking a place called Lake Chelan with accompanying hills. sigh...whenever I need to get away, even in my mind's eye...that's where I go.
