I love the energy, the forward motion of your poem!
Wow, how exciting to have the Olympic Torch Relay pass so close to your house. I assume you took those pictures. I love the idea of 'one Olympic nation.' For a short time every four years, this is just what we are, isn't it? Your poem will preserve the memory of this event. A fine write indeed.
There's just something about the Olympic spirit that just seems to draw people together and unites them, even if it's only for a brief moment. You've captured that magical moment so well...and I'm so jealous, what a great thing to witness! Thanks for sharing this with all of us over at Poetry Jam!
Yes, it is so uniting! Well written so much energy surging in this!
I like "collected fears have lost their meaning." So true, in a joyous occasion such as this, good feelings prevail. Nice emotions and energy in your poem :)
Definitely celebration in the carrying of the torch and the opening of the Olympics. It was in Vancouver in 2010 and the whole city partied for the duration - so proud. It was quite lovely. Enjoy!
I love the Olympic Torch parade when it came here some years ago--probably many years ago now. The only thing that really mystified me in your poem were the buffaloes herding! But perhaps I am being too literal.
The buffalo thing was just a wee bit of poetic licence Peggy-the trains were packed with people and the police were moving them like cattle. A very busy day for everyone!
I love the crescendo in energy in this poem. Also enjoyed the"collected fears have lost ther meaning" Nice!
I feel like I am in the middle of this celebration. Love it!
ah very cool...it is coming soon...and it will be celebration for sure...you really give a sense of expectation and energy in this...
Fun poem! Your words have lovely energy. :)
Thanks for all these comments. Looking forward to the Olympics even more after the torch relay!
Enjoyed this very much! I agree with the above comment...it's the certain energy in the poem. Very nice.
